For some time now, the artist has been recognizing hearts where they usually go unnoticed: rubber mats on public transportation, engravings on cement sidewalks and, particularly, on the ornaments of the railings that separate the city of Lima from the windows of its houses. Her approach to these characteristic elements of the urban landscape is, more than formal or aesthetic, affective. Marisabel extracts these forms, recomposes them, isolates them from each other, stretches them, deforms them. She makes them vulnerable. What was once rigid, now seems to melt in the middle of the exhibition room. The iron hearts that composed an impenetrable barrier now seem to desperately search for each other.
