David Zink Yi

(Lima, 1973) There is an invisible thread that threads David Zink Yi’s works, performances and installations: his interest in the processes, origins and organic connections of things that are imbued with a sensual and intuitive component. David Zink Yi studied at the Kunst Akademie, Munich and the Universität der Künste, Berlin. His individual exhibitions include: Proyecto Amil, Lima; Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown; Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI), Lima, Peru; Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis; among others. His collective exhibitions include: Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart; Conde Duque Cultural Center, Madrid; Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn; USF Museum of Contemporary Art, Tampa; Contemporary Art Center, New Orleans; 8th Berlin Biennial, Biennial of the Americas, Denver; 9th Mercosul Biennial, Porto Alegre; among many others.

His works are in the following collections: Le Collège / FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Reims, France; Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, USA; Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany; Lima Art Museum (MALI), among others.

David Zink Yi

David Zink Yi was born in Lima, Peru in 1973. He has studied at Berufsfachshule, Munich; Kunst Akademie, Munich and at the University of Künste, Berlin. Lives and works in Berlin.

Zink Yi has had solo exhibitions at MAK, Vienna; MALI, Lima; Kunsthalle St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; FRAC Champagne-Ardennes, Reims; Kunstraum, Innsbruck; Kunstlerhaus, Bremen; Hausser and Wirth, Zürich, London; Johann König Gallery, Berlin; 80m2 Livia Benavides, Lima. He has also exhibited in numerous collective exhibitions in Latin America, the United States, the Middle East and Europe. Zink Yi has participated in the 55th Venice Biennial, 9 Mercosur, Sharjah, 8th Berlin and 3rd of New Orlando.
