Sandra Gamarra
Sandra Gamarra
(Lima,1972) Sandra Gamarra’s practice makes reference to cultural production as a construction in balance. The constant use of painting in Gamarra, always camouflaged or hybrid, acts as a mirror that alters the exhibition formats, narratives and the concept of cultural property. In 2002, she created the LiMac, a museum project, in response to the cultural institutional void in Peru. Since then the museum has been presented in various forms: souvenirs, publications, exhibitions, architectural plans, collections, paintings or on its website (www. Li-mac.org). Since it lacks a permanent space the museum is installed in different cities and adapts to the nature of each place of reception.
