Three Thousand Songs by David Zink Yi at Fondation Beyeler
21.07.2025
We are pleased to announce Three Thousand Songs, an ongoing music project of David Zink Yi inspired by the expressive strategies of a single mimicry bird, was presented as part of the Sound Garden series at Fondation Beyeler.
The mimicry bird is said to have the largest song repertoire in the world, and deeply rooted in the musical traditions of the African diaspora, particularly from the Caribbean and Cuba. David Zink Yi along with an extraordinary group of musicians explore how imitation of nature becomes a space for reinvention and belonging.
