We are proud to announce that Modulations – Sequence XXIX by Ximena Garrido-Lecca, represented by Livia Benavides Gallery, is the winner of this year’s Legacy Purchase Program. Residents and members of the public in Miami Beach voted for the City to add this work to its permanent public art collection, now on display at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

In her Modulations series, Garrido-Lecca explores the role of copper in Peru’s economy, where it is exported as a raw material for technology industries. The works incorporate abstract symbols inspired by modernist corporate logos, woven in traditional forms, questioning the relationship between these modern images—linked to modernization and the global economy—and pre-Columbian abstraction.
